Gov. Janet Napolitano, D-Ariz., issued the following news release:
Gov. Janet Napolitano, accompanied by Sonoran Gov. Eduardo Bours, today met with Mexican President Felipe Calderon to ask for Mexico's support of Arizona-Sonora initiatives, and collaboration on improving border security, immigration, infrastructure and trade between Arizona and Mexico.
"For Arizona to achieve our goal of a more secure border with expanded trade and tourism we need to engage directly with the President of Mexico," Governor Napolitano said. "The steps we made today will develop the Arizona-Mexico partnership, providing security and benefiting both markets."
