The U.S. Department of Justice's U.S. Attorney's office for the Middle District of Louisiana issued the following press release:

United States Attorney David R. Dugas announced today that a federal grand jury in the Middle District of Louisiana returned a two-count indictment against JEREMY CARLTON BARRETT, age 44, of Ventress, Louisiana, charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of an unregistered sawed-off shotgun.

If convicted, BARRETT faces a maximum term of imprisonment of life, a fine of up to $500,000, or both.
