August Humer, 59 years old, January 17, 2007, in Linz, Austria, after a courageous battle with cancer. Professor Humer studied organ and harpsichord with Anton Heiller and Isolde Ahlgrimm at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. After finishing his diploma (summa cum laude), he traveled to the U.S., where he began an active career as a recitalist in the United States and Canada under the management of Phillip Truckenbrod Concert Artists. In 1972-1974 he was a prizewinner at the international competitions in Innsbruck and Nuremberg. Since then, he performed widely in Europe, from Scandinavia to Spain, as well as in North America, earning high critical praise. In 1972 ...
