College of New Jersey issued the following news release:
Michelle Fickas (Milford, NJ), a National Merit Scholar and recipient of the United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Award, chose to stay at home in New Jersey for her college studies. The international studies major and volunteer at Ewing Head Start plans to pursue a career in national security. Many like her, however, will choose to leave New Jersey in the future, because the Outstanding Scholar Recruitment Program is being eliminated from the state budget.
