The New York State Police issued the following news release:
Today, the New York State Police celebrates its 90th Anniversary. On April 11, 1917, the State Legislature established the New York State Police as a full service police agency.
Acting New York State Police Superintendent Preston L. Felton said, "As we mark our 90th anniversary, we look at our history, the proud traditions and immeasurable sacrifices upon which our agency has grown.
