Commission issues warning
THE Manitoba Securities Commission has issued a warning about a "suspicious investment scheme" being touted at free public seminars offered in the province.
Attendees are told that they can join an organization, for a fee, which allows them to learn about and become "portfolio account managers" where they can restructure their assets in a variety of ways.
The securities commission said in a press release that it's received reports that members are given a one-year probation period with the organization to restructure their own assets, refer other people to the organization or introduce a new business opportunity to the group.
