Australian Senator Gary Humphries (Liberal-Australian Capital Territory) issued the following news release:

ACT Liberal Sen. Gary Humphries has welcomed the National Capital Authority's decision to effectively go back to the drawing board on its plans for development of the Albert Hall Precinct.

In relation to Draft Amendment 53, the NCA has abandoned the option of a 25 metre high building and decided that the precinct should have a cultural focus.

"While it was never proposal to knock down the Albert Hall, there are valid concerns that surrounding developments would detract from its status," Senator Humphries said.

"I am pleased the NCA will hold further consultations and that the deadline ...
