Article: KEN WATKINS TAKES OVER AS GRAND JUNCTION'S NEW FIRE CHIEF

The city of Grand Junction issued the following news release:

Ken Watkins, a Deputy Fire Chief with the Westminster, CO Fire Department has accepted the position of Grand Junction Fire Chief.

Watkins was among five finalists who vied for the position which was vacated by the retirement of former Chief Rick Beaty in April 2006. Grand Junction Operations Chief Jim Bright has served as the Interim Fire Chief during that period.

Watkins' professional career consists of over 27 years of public safety service, 25 with the Westminster Fire Department. Prior to entering the fire service he served in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer/Investigator and was stationed at Fort Carson, ...
