Warren Kay Pincock was born in Teton, ID on Oct. 25, 1919. He passed away in Tucson, AZ on Nov. 21, 1996 following an extended and courageous battle with cancer. Pincock was known as Kay to his friends and associates. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. He went on to become recognized as one of the world's most highly respected mining engineers.
Upon graduation from high school in 1937, Pincock enrolled in the College of Mines at the University of Idaho. He dropped out after one semester because of a shortage of funds. But he gained practical experience and replenished his college fund by working for several years in various underground mines.
