Article: Rep. Watson Introduces Jose Medina Veterans Affairs Police Training Act

WASHINGTON, April 21 -- Rep. Diane E. Watson, D-California, has introduced the Jose Medina Veterans Affairs Police Training Act of 2007 (H.R. 1853), legislation that would "direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to ensure that Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) police officers receive training to interact with visitors and patients at Department medical facilities who are suffering from mental illness."

The bill, introduced on March 29, was referred to the House Veterans' Affairs Committee.
