Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa. (7th CD), has issued the following news release:
Today, Rep. Joe Sestak, a former Fire Marshal in the Navy and a member of the Congressional Fire Services Caucus, spoke at the George Clay Fire Company's 109th Banquet. In light of the recent ruling against the Kangas family, Rep. Sestak spoke of Christopher Kangas and his work to correct this injustice.
"As a Fire Marshal in the Navy, I know of the selfless commitment of first-responders," noted Joe at the banquet. "That is why I am especially aggrieved by this week's decision by the Federal Court of Appeal. Christopher Kangas, regardless of his status, was a firefighter and should be considered as such under the law."
