Abstract

This paper reviews two important phenomena in contemporary times: the Global Business Environment, a forceful, interdependent factor in the development of all areas of the world, and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), as formulated by the United Nations in 2000. The paper elucidates the increasing influence of business in all facets of existence, and refers to the inevitable responsibility of this sector in enhancing the quality of life in all countries of the world, and therewith advancing the realization of the MDGs.
