Japanese fabric exports to the Middle East, centering on thobe fabrics, generally remained in a favorable condition in 2006, and if things continue as they are, exports are likely to remain at this level this year as well. The high appreciation of Japanese-made quality fabrics in the Middle East and the favorable economic situation in this market supported by high oil prices, have enabled Japanese textile manufacturers, dyehouses and trading houses to significantly increase their sales.
