Article: 44 Muslim couples tie knot at Gwalior mass marriage

Gwalior, May 7 -- Forty-four Muslim couples, belonging to poor families, tied the nuptial knot at a mass marriage here.

Organised by an Islamic charity organisation, the marriages were conducted as per Islamic rituals in a huge makeshift hall.

The grooms were dressed in white and wearing elaborately decorated bright saffron turbans arrived at the venue riding horses accompanied by their relatives and friends.

Rubina Khan, a bride, said such mass marriages should be encouraged.
