The South Carolina Department of Corrections issued the following press release:

As part of Correctional Officers' Week, May 6-12, the South Carolina Correctional Association on Monday recognized correctional officers, police officers and members of the U.S. armed services from across the state.

During an appreciation luncheon, several law enforcement agents were highlighted for their exemplary service during the past year, including Patrick Ford, who was named the South Carolina Department of Corrections' Officer of the Year.

Mr. Ford is a correctional officer at Evans Correctional Institution in Bennettsville.
