Universal Robina Corp., the food and beverage arm of JG Summit Holdings Inc., has entered the chewing and bubble gum business and is set to launch an entirely new line of products in the next few months, the company announced.
The maker of Jack and Jill snack foods and C2 tea drinks will introduce a new bubble gum product in a bid for a slice of the P2-billion market, Lance Gokongwei, URC president, said during an interview.
Gokongwei, however, is mum about the brand name of the product that will compete with Juicy Fruit and Double-mint gums, the established brands of big industry player Wrigley's.
