According to the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network, one in every 25 Americans has a food allergy, equating to approximately 12 million people in the United States -- of that number, 150 to 200 people die annually as a result.

This staggering statistic, along with the increasing rise in food allergies, prompted over 100 children and teenagers to travel to Washington, D.C. recently. Among them was a 6-year-old child from Hanscom.
