The University of Massachusetts at Amherst issued the following press release:
The Seventh Annual Michael S. Roif Award in Film Studies will be presented on Friday, May 18 to four certificate students in the interdepartmental program in film studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
The award ceremony at noon in 301 Herter Hall will be followed by screenings of the award-winning films. Professor Jacqueline Urla of the anthropology department, who is interim director of the interdepartmental program in film studies, will introduce the winners.
The first-place award is going to Benjamin Sidney, a junior anthropology major from Florence, Mass., for his narrative DVD "Vis a Vis."
