Wright State University issued the following news release:
Alzheimer's disease adversely affects the African American community in two critical areas. Research shows that a higher percentage of African Americans suffer from this form of dementia than the general population. And, to complicate things, many African Americans in the lower income brackets feel limited in their access to regular health care.
The Wright State University School of Professional Psychology (SOPP) Community Memory Clinic at the Duke Ellis Human Development Institute in West Dayton was established in part to address these concerns.
