The Alabama Department of Education's Board of Education adopted the following resolution:

WHEREAS, in Alabama educators think of their students as their children, and on March 1, 2007, educators in the Enterprise City School System lost eight of their children when a devastating tornado struck the southeast Alabama town of Enterprise and destroyed Enterprise High School; and

WHEREAS, the deadly tornado also caused multiple injuries at Enterprise High School and severely damaged the nearby Hillcrest Elementary School as well as homes and businesses in the city of Enterprise; and
