Article: Italian, German, Finnish Inventors Develop Medium Voltage Circuit Breaker

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 21 -- Alessandro Colombo of Milan, Italy, Carlo Gemme of Pavia, Italy, Christian Reuber of Ratingen, Germany, of Pentti Mahonen of Wasa, Finland, have developed circuit breakers with integrated current and/or voltage sensors.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the invention relates to a "circuit breaker, in particular a medium voltage circuit breaker, having a current and/or a voltage measuring device integrated thereon. The integration can be functional and/or physical."
