The Miami-Dade County government issued the following news release:
The Port of Miami welcomes Royal Caribbean International's newest cruise ship, the Liberty of the Seas. The official Naming Ceremony will take place today at 4:00 p.m. aboard the Liberty, while the ship is docked at the Port of Miami. The vessel will then set sail at approximately 6:00 p.m.
Holding 3,634 guests double-occupancy, Liberty of the Seas shares the title of the world's largest cruise ship, the second in Royal Caribbean's new Freedom class. It is the sister-ship to the Freedom of the Seas, which also sails weekly Caribbean cruises from Miami.
