Article: SEN. MALTESE CALLS ON CONGRESS, U.S. POSTAL SERVICE TO MAKE PURPLE HEART STAMP PERMANENT

New York State Sen. Serphin R. Maltese, R-Middle Village (15th District), issued the following news release:

With the new postal rate taking effect last week, State Sen. Maltese called upon Congress and the United States Postal Service to issue a "forever stamp" for the Purple Heart stamp.

Senator Maltese and his colleague Senator Bill Larkin have given their full support to the Perpetual Purple Heart Stamp Act, introduced at the federal level by Congressman Peter King. The Act would make the Purple Heart stamp a permanent "forever stamp."
