Rep.Jo Ann Davis made the following statement regarding the Department of Homeland Security's decision to designate Hampton Roads, VA as one of 45 "high threat" urban areas this year:
"The Hampton Roads area, and the Port of Hampton Roads specifically, are key commerce and national security centers for the United States, and deserve this designation," said Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis, who petitioned DHS Secretary Chertoff in March about the need to treat the Port of Hampton Roads as one entity in considering the port for the Port Security Grant Program.
