The University of Texas at Arlington issued the following news release:

In January, the University of Texas at Arlington received the bad news that it was going to lose $16.6 million or 10.29 percent of its state funding. This loss included several millions due to a change in the formula used by the legislature to fund the state's universities. The new formula deducted money from universities who teach engineering, nursing, and education, UT Arlington's largest fields.
