WASHINGTON, June 1 -- Rep. Peter T. King, R-New York, has introduced the Perpetual Purple Heart Stamp Act (H.R. 2303), legislation that would "provide for the issuance of a 'forever stamp' to honor the sacrifices of the brave men and women of the armed forces who have been awarded the Purple Heart."
The bill, introduced on May 14, was co-sponsored by 45 representatives. It was referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
