WASHINGTON, June 2 -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, has introduced the Perpetual Purple Heart Stamp Act (S. 1390), legislation that would "provide for the issuance of a 'forever stamp' to honor the sacrifices of the brave men and women of the armed forces who have been awarded the Purple Heart."
The bill, introduced on May 15, was co-sponsored by Sens. David Vitter, R-Louisiana; Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio; and Elizabeth Dole, R-North Carolina. It was referred to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
