WASHINGTON, June 4 -- Rep. Charles A. Gonzalez, D-Texas, has introduced a bill (H.R. 2422) to "require railroad carriers to prepare and maintain a plan for notifying local emergency responders before transporting hazardous materials through their jurisdictions."
The bill, introduced on May 22, was referred to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
