Article: Rep. Ellison Introduces Same-Day Voter Registration Act

WASHINGTON, June 4 -- Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minnesota, has introduced the Same-Day Voter Registration Act of 2007 (H.R. 2457), legislation that would "amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require States to permit individuals to register to vote in an election for federal office on the date of the election."

The bill, introduced on May 23, was co-sponsored by 35 representatives. It was referred to the House Administration Committee.
