The U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives Seattle Field Office issued the following press release:

Earlier today the U.S. Attorney's Office sent out a press release with respect to the final sentencing in the Operation Backfire case, based upon Judge Aiken's pronoucement of a 51 month sentence for Jonathan Paul. Immediately after pronouncement, Paul's defense attorney objected to the sentence, arguing that Judge Aiken miscalculated the guidelines. Based on that, Judge Aiken withdrew her pronouncement of sentence and gave the parties additional time to brief the issue raised by defense counsel. No new date has been set for Paul's sentencing.
