Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) wrote five concertos, all of which are among his most popular works: Concerto champêtre for harpsichord (1927), Aubade, a "choreographic concerto" for piano and 18 instruments (1929), Concerto for Two Pianos (1932), Concerto for Organ, String Orchestra, and Tympani (1937), and finally the Piano Concerto (1949).
