CHARLESTON - Mildred "Millie" Snyder has devoted most of her life to helping others develop healthy eating habits and knows first-hand what it takes to do it.

Snyder, 59 became acquainted with the Weight Watchers mission in Baltimore when she joined in 1966. Following a successful personal weight loss experience, she served as a group leader, teaching and encouraging others to develop healthier lifestyles.

She then worked for Weight Watchers in Virginia, and, following a trip to West Virginia, decided to bring Weight Watchers to the Mountain State.

She acquired a Weight Watchers franchise in 1968, opening for business the following year under the name Weight Watchers Inc., of Charleston and ...
