What constitutes a happy end?The question is culturally relative: when, where, why and to whom, we may ask. In Disney's Fantasia 2000 (2000), Hans Christian Andersen's tale of "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" (1838) is chosen to accompany Shostakovich' Piano Concerto No. 2, Allegro, Opus 102. In the e nd, the trollish jack-in-the-box assumes the place of the tin soldier and the ballerina in the wood-burning oven, while the toy couple ends up 'alive' and embracing each other in a final tableau.
