Article: NEW YORK STATE JOB GROWTH MATCHES U.S., STATE'S JOBLESS RATE REMAINS BELOW NATION'S IN MAY

The New York State Department of Labor issued the following news release:

New York State's private sector job count increased over the month by 10,600, or 0.1 percent, to 7,196,300 (seasonally adjusted) in May 2007, the State Labor Department reported today. Since the beginning of New York's current economic expansion in August 2003, the state has added 292,500 private sector jobs. New York State's unemployment rate, after seasonal adjustment, increased from 4.1 percent in April 2007 to 4.4 percent in May 2007.
