SYRACUSE - For the first time in more than 40 years, Syracuse University (SU) is building a new residence hall. The $50 million residence hall, to be located at 619 Comstock Ave., is set to open in August 2009.
The bidding process for the project's general contractor will begin this December or January, says Douglas Tankersley, senior project manager for SU's Office of Campus Planning, Design, and Construction.
"Most likely it won't be a public bid. It will be a private bid," Tankersley says.
SU has not decided which general contractors it will invite to bid, but at least five companies will be asked to bid on the project, he says. The general contractor will be chosen in February 2008. ...
