If the message of Islam: What the West Needs to Know is true, it is an alarming one indeed.
Produced by Quixotic Media, the film, which opened locally last weekend, consists of a series of interviews with a number of authors who have written about Islam and who have all come to the same basic conclusion: What is branded as "extremist" or "radical" Islam isn't really anything of the sort; it is Islam, plain and simple.
When one examines the core texts of Islam, the argument goes, one learns that Islam is the only true religion, that all non-Muslims must be converted to Islam and that this goal is to be achieved through force and bloodshed, ...
