The Senate Budget Committee issued the following remarks:
I would like to welcome everybody to the Senate Budget Committee's markup of the fiscal year 2008 budget resolution....
We would ask, as in past years, that all amendments, other than full substitutes, be fully offset for the total of the years covered by the budget. Amendments will need to be paid for over the total of that time period to be considered in the Committee. I would encourage members, and I hope Senator Gregg would join me in this, to urge colleagues not to offer sense of the Senate amendments.
