The New York State Public Service Commission issued the following news release:
The New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) received a report from Staff of the Department of Public Service (Staff) on its investigation into the July and September 2006 electric utility outages in Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc.'s (Con Edison) Westchester service area. Based on Staff's findings, the Commission decided to direct Con Edison to show cause why Con Edison believes its emergency restoration response was reasonable for the September outage event, and why the company should not be required to provide an opportunity for customers to seek claims pursuant to its tariff.
