Jefferson County issued the following news release:
July 1, 2007 marks the one-year anniversary of the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act and Jefferson County has plenty to celebrate. The Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act protects Jefferson County residents, visitors and workers from involuntary exposure to secondhand smoke. The law prohibits smoking in public places and workplaces, including restaurants and bars. Recently, a study by the State Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership found that air pollution in bars and restaurants, has improved by nearly 70 percent since the smoke-free law took effect.
