Article: ASSEMBLY OK'S ASSEMBLY MEMBERS GREENSTEIN, MORIARTY BILL TO CREATE RIGHT-TO-KNOW LAW FOR HOSPITAL INFECTION RATES

The New Jersey Assembly's Democrats issued the following news release:

Legislation Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein and Assemblymen Paul Moriarty and Joseph Vas are sponsoring to provide health-care consumers unfettered access to reports on infection rates at all New Jersey hospitals was passed today by the Assembly.

The bill (A-4328/455/S-147) would help address issues raised in published reports that found state health officials collect only limited information on hospital infections. News articles also have highlighted a secretive system in which infection rates are withheld from public scrutiny.
