Article: Idaho Inventor Develops Input/Output Terminal Disconnecting Apparatus

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 26 --Alan R. Wheeler of Boise, Idaho, has developed an apparatus and a method of disconnecting or disabling an input/output terminal of an integrated circuit after packaging.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Each input/output terminal of the integrated circuit includes a disabling device coupled thereto between the input/output terminal and the output driver of the respective input/output terminal."

An abstract of the invention, released by the Patent Office, said: "A dynamic random access memory (DRAM) module is disclosed having a plurality of partially good DRAM devices wherein the known bad input/output terminals are permanently disconnected ...
