Article: HOUSE APPROVES REP. LANTOS-HOBSON BILL TO ESTABLISH INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR FUEL BANK

Rep.David Hobson, R-Ohio (7th CD), issued the following news release:

The U.S. House of Representatives today approved a bill sponsored by Rep. Dave Hobson (OH-7th District) that would establish an international nuclear fuel bank to manage low-enriched uranium to be used by countries operating within global security standards. The International Nuclear Fuel for Peace and Nonproliferation Act of 2007 (H.R. 885) would reduce the need for countries to pursue their own uranium enrichment technologies, which has caused growing concerns in recent years over the possible development of nuclear weapons by countries like Iran.
