In 1997, The Phenomenon of Singing International Symposium was created as an integral component of the inaugural FESTIVAL 500 Sharing the Voices, an international festival of singing and song. Hosted every second year on the campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland, FESTIVAL 500 represents a gathering of some of the greatest minds and most creative forces in the world of choral and vocal music...in a place that is recognized for its historically deep vocal traditions.
