Purdue University issued the following news release:

France Córdova has invited the Purdue University community to an ice cream social Monday, July 16, her first day on the job.

All Purdue students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the event, "Handshakes and Milkshakes," which will be held 3:30- 5 p.m. on the steps of Hovde Hall and on the adjacent Purdue Mall. The treats will be provided by Pappy's Sweet Shop, which is located in the Purdue Memorial Union.
