Sydney, July 14 -- The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has charged Indian doctor Mohammed Haneef for providing support to terrorists responsible for the failed London and Glasgow bomb plots.
"Dr Haneef has been charged with providing support to a terrorist organisation," the AFP said in a statement.
The offence carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
Police said, Dr Haneef "recklessly" gave his mobile phone's SIM card to people planning the car bomb attacks.
