Mumbai / Gujarat, July 16 -- The alliance between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its right wing ally, the Shiv Sena, is reportedly on the rocks following the latter's decision to support the candidature of Pratibha Patil for the July 19 President's polls.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on Sunday appealed to opposition legislators to vote for Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.
