Article: PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE TO PRESENT NEW PROJECT FOR CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS

The city of Missoula issued the following news release:

Missoula's newest piece of public art will stretch 26 feet along the wall outside City Council Chambers and reflect the creative energy that goes into the crafting of public policy.

On July 23 at the 7 p.m. meeting of the Missoula City Council, members of Missoula's Public Art Committee will present the details of the City's newest public art project, a work by Seattle artist Mary Iverson. It will be installed in late September or early October. "Ponder" will be an abstract painting that uses the progress of a box across a long canvas as a visual metaphor for the process of weighing an idea, Iverson says.
