Article: MILK MARKETING BOARD APPROVES ORDER TO ALLOW FOR EXPANSION OF OVER-ORDER PREMIUM

The Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board issued the following news release:

On June 6, 2007, the Pennsylvania Milk Marketing Board approved an order that could lead to expansion of the state-mandated over-order premium. Currently the Board establishes an over-order premium payment to dairy farmers for milk that is produced on a Pennsylvania farm, processed in a Pennsylvania plant, and then sold in Pennsylvania. Under the new order, the Board will consider establishing an over-order producer premium for milk that is produced on a Pennsylvania farm, processed in a Pennsylvania plant, and then sold outside of Pennsylvania in other states with mandated over-order Class I producer premiums.
