WASHINGTON, July 24 -- Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, has introduced a bill (H.R. 3059) to "increase the corporate average fuel economy standards for automobiles."

The bill, introduced on July 17, has 23 co-sponsors. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
