Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) tonight said he was encouraged by the record support received in the House this evening for an amendment he authored that sought to protect patients who use medical marijuana in accordance with state law from federal prosecution. The congressman vowed to continue fighting for passage of his medical marijuana measure next year.
